Baptism

Acts 2:38 – Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

1 Peter 3:21 – There is also an antitype which now saves us—baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ

Baptism is a step of obedience the Lord has commanded each believer. Baptism does not save a person from their sins, but it does demonstrate to the Body of Christ that you have put off the old man or woman you used to be and now are a new creation in Christ or meaning that you turned away from your sin and put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ’s death, burial and resurrection and the fact that he conquered sin and death forever and that you are committed to follow Him. This does not mean you will be perfect automatically, but it does mean that Christ will change who you are becoming if you are truly Christs you will desire to change the way you are living and become more conformed to his image every day and we rejoice when we see baptisms take place because this is a celebration of being born again into the kingdom of God and a demonstration before the public eye that you are now Christs and will live for Him.

If you would like to be baptized at some point, please talk to Pastor Unger and he would be happy to schedule a time for Baptism.
