How We Began
Richfield Springs Bible Church is a friendly, Bible preaching, Bible believing Church founded in 1971 by a group of believers who first met in local homes.
Located in a small rural village surrounded by dairy farms, RSBC purchased a former Jewish Synagogue on Church Street in 1972. After much remodeling, we had a formal place to worship.
Continued Growth
The main building was expanded in 2007-2008 to its current size by adding a new fellowship/multi-purpose space for church events and ministry.
Our Pastor, Reverend Richard Unger, began his leadership in July of 2021. We are blessed to be lead by him and to be joined by his wife, Kathy.
Our typical service is attended by about 85 – 100 believers. We believe traditional hymns as well as some modern choruses are both appropriate in a worship service. We attempt to avoid extremes of either. Stressing one against the other only serves to divide a congregation rather than unite it. Therefore, in keeping with the command to be of one mind, we attempt to incorporate both hymns and choruses as a part of our weekly service. We encourage people to sing with praise in their hearts, expressing adoration to God in their own appropriately expressive way.
Our Future
We are here for the glory of God! “To God Be The Glory” is our motto and our Church song. Our Church verse is 1 Chronicles 29:11: “Thine, O LORD is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.”
We know that God puts people in the local Church for a reason (I Corinthians 12:18) and we encourage every person to use the gifts God has given them to exhalt the Savior, for the edification of the saints, and to evangelize the lost. Our focus is to serve the Lord by spreading the Word and serving the family.
